How to Install MegaSync Desktop Client In GNU / Linux Ubuntu

To get free space 50 GB, we just register at mega.nz site

The registration process is very simple, we just enter the email that we will use and confirm the email address to start using the free 50 GB facility from MEGA. For more details MEGA account registration process will be explained at the next point.

How to Install MEGAsync In GNU / Linux

To install MEGAsync Client on GNU / Linux in this case Ubuntu 17.10, then we have to download the installer file in following link

https://mega.nz/linux/MEGAsync/

Then we customize with GNU / Linux Distro that we use, in this case I will practice on Ubuntu 17.10 Distro. If confused to find the file installer can download  in this link . Or can copy the following command

$wget -c https://mega.nz/linux/MEGAsync/xUbuntu_17.10/amd64//megasync_3.1.4_amd64.deb

After successfully downloaded, then we install by typing

$sudo dpkg -i megasync_3.1.4_amd64.deb

Then we fix the dependencies by typing

$sudo apt install -f

Up to you installing nautilus-megasync the file installer can download  in this link .
 Or can copy the following command

$wget -c https://mega.nz/linux/MEGAsync/xUbuntu_17.10/amd64/nautilus-megasync_3.1.4_amd64.deb

$sudo dpkg -i nautilus-megasync_3.1.4_amd64.deb

Up here the installation of MEGAsync desktop client on Ubuntu 17.10 has been successfully done. The next step is to synchronize our Ubuntu with the MEGAsync account.

MEGAsync Desktop Client

First we open the MEGA application on the start menu (Dash) then the display will appear as follows

If we already have an account, we select the section I have MEGA account, then click Next and will open the following:

We just enter the email and password from our MEGA account, then click Next to continue

At this stage there are two options that we can choose, first Full Sync, this option will synchronize all data in MEGA cloud into our computer. Or Selective Sync, in this option we can determine what files / data that want to be synchronized into our computer. Then click Next to continue.

Next we are asked to choose the location of MEGA folder inside our computer. Here I will leave it by default then click Next to continue.

Configuration process has been completed, click Finish to automatically start the process of synchronizing data from the cloud to our computer.

MEGA Registration Process

If the reader does not have a MEGA account, we can register it at the MEGASycn Desktop configuration.

At this stage we select I do not have a MEGA account then we click Next to continue.

Here we just enter information about the account name, email address and password that we will use later. If everything is filled correctly, click Next to continue.

Next we will be asked to verify the email address to make sure the email we use is correct. MEGA will automatically send a message containing a link to verify the email.

We live click on the Verify My Email to verify our email.

It will automatically open a new window in the web browser then we enter the email and password that we use during registration, then click Confirm your account to continue.

To get 50 GB for free, we just choose on the FREE. If you want to get more space, you can upgrade it anytime.

Beriku is a MEGA view in a kampungpenguin account, and now we already have 50 GB free that we can use for our purposes.

MEGA For Android

For those of you who want to access MEGA data through Smartphone (Android) we can install the application via PlayStore.

Select login, then live we enter our email and password.

Then the application will automatically sync.

At this stage we are offered to integrate our camera to MEGA cloud. Please select as needed, and now we can access MEGA cloud data via Android smartphone. May be useful…
